Treatment Process

Process 01

Consultation and Clinical Examination

Through a TMJ-specific questionnaire and detailed consultation, we thoroughly assess the patient’s symptoms, including frequency, intensity, triggering factors, and lifestyle habits.

A Temporomandibular Disorder Analysis Examination (TMJ Examination) is performed to evaluate the range of jaw movement, limitations in mouth opening, types of joint sounds, location and characteristics of pain, occlusal abnormalities, and referred pain caused by TMJ disorders (such as headaches, masticatory muscle pain, toothache, and facial pain).
Process 02

Advanced Diagnostic Examination

Precise diagnosis of the affected area is performed through panoramic radiography, TMJ panoramic imaging, cephalometric analysis, and computed tomography (CT).

If necessary, additional examinations such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) may be conducted.
Process 03

Diagnosis and Customized Treatment

Based on the examination results, we identify the underlying cause and establish an accurate diagnosis.

Depending on the patient’s symptoms, treatment may include medication, physical therapy, injection therapy (botulinum toxin injection), and splint (oral appliance) therapy.

When necessary, a multidisciplinary approach in collaboration with other departments is implemented to determine the most appropriate treatment plan and timing according to the patient’s condition.
Process 04

Post-Treatment Care

and Regular Check-Ups

After treatment, we continuously monitor the patient’s recovery progress.

We provide education on lifestyle improvements and self-care methods with a focus on preventing recurrence. When necessary, regular follow-up examinations are conducted to ensure long-term oral health management.
