Preventive Treatment

Fluoride application strengthens the surface of the teeth and helps prevent cavities from forming.

With a 40–70% effectiveness in preventing tooth decay, regular fluoride treatment from an early age is very important.

Sealant (pit and fissure sealing) preventive treatment fills the small natural grooves in children’s teeth with resin, blocking areas where cavities are likely to develop. This treatment is especially effective on molars, where grooves are deep and narrow, and is an important method for preventing cavities in advance.

These two preventive treatments serve as a strong line of defense in protecting dental health, greatly helping to prevent cavities and the pain they may cause as children grow.

※ All procedures (surgery, treatments, etc.) may involve side effects, so an accurate diagnosis and sufficient consultation with medical professionals are required.

Cavity Treatment

Because cavities progress more quickly in children than in adults, it is very important to treat them promptly once they develop.
If tooth decay is not detected early, it can worsen rapidly, making treatment more difficult and placing a greater burden on your child’s teeth.

Therefore, it is essential to protect your child’s healthy teeth by undergoing regular check-ups and receiving cavity treatment as soon as possible.

Treatment Using Conscious Sedation

We provide safer and more comfortable treatment for children who are afraid of dental care.
With nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and conscious sedation anesthesia, children can receive treatment without tension and in a relaxed state.

General anesthesia is also available when necessary, helping to ensure that your child feels calm and secure throughout the procedure.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Sedation Using Oral Conscious Sedatives

General Anesthesia

Description

  • Nitrous oxide (N₂O), commonly known as laughing gas, helps relieve anxiety.

※ After treatment, it is eliminated from the body by breathing oxygen, making it harmless.

  • The patient takes a prescribed sedative and receives treatment while in a drowsy state, often in combination with nitrous oxide.

※ At Mir Pediatric Dentistry, the dosage does not exceed the maximum allowable amount for children.

  • Treatment is performed under general anesthesia in a fully stable condition. The patient does not wake during the procedure and does not feel pain, preventing dental treatment–related trauma.

Recommended For

  • Patients with a strong gag reflex or high anxiety
  • Patients with severe dental fear or phobia
  • Patients who are completely uncooperative
  • Patients requiring extensive treatment who have difficulty visiting multiple times
  • Patients who have difficulty receiving treatment due to a disability

Preventive Orthodontics

Keep your child’s teeth healthy with orthodontic care at the right time.

The ideal time for your child’s first orthodontic check-up is around age 7.

At this stage, an orthodontic evaluation allows us to establish an appropriate treatment plan that considers growth and development.

If treatment is delayed beyond the optimal timing, the complexity of orthodontic treatment may increase later.

Therefore, early orthodontic evaluation is important.

If any of these apply to you,

it’s time to consider orthodontic treatment.
